Kindergarten

We offer full and half day Kindergarten. In addition to readiness programs, our children study Reading, Phonics, Handwriting, and Math. They also participate in Music, Physical Education, and Computer education programs. Children must be five years old by September 1 to enter the Kindergarten program.

The Kindergarten Class has a homework review sheet every Wednesday night.  Parents are encouraged to discuss the assignment with their child and sign the homework paper before it is returned Thursday morning.

Kindergarten Newsletters go home every Friday.

Practice reading your high frequency words and sounding out short vowel words.

Next Tuesday, February 14th will be our Kindergarten Valentine's Day Party.  If you'd like to bring a Valentine-please bring one for each classmate.  We have 25 students.

 

Computer

This week Kindergarten played a Valentine matching game and connected the dots to form pictures. Some students even made it to 100! Way to go Kindergarten!. Check out the site www.abcya.com to see what they were up to.  

Music

In kindergarten music class, we are working on identifying the musical sounds we hear using words like HIGH, LOW, LOUD, SOFT, FAST, SLOW, SHORT, and LONG.  Our focus for the next few weeks are loud and soft sounds.
