Kindergarten

We offer full and half day Kindergarten. In addition to readiness programs, our children study Reading, Phonics, Handwriting, and Math. They also participate in Music, Physical Education, and Computer education programs. Children must be five years old by September 1 to enter the Kindergarten program.

The Kindergarten Class has a homework review sheet every Wednesday night.  Parents are encouraged to discuss the assignment with their child and sign the homework paper before it is returned Thursday morning.

Kindergarten Newsletters go home every Friday.

Practice reading your high frequency words and sounding out short vowel words.

We have been working on a "Friendship" Theme.  We recited poems, sang songs, and created "Friendship" kites.  We also brainstormed the important qualities needed to be a good friend.  We made a "Friendship" book.

Computer

The Kindergarteners have been busy practicing thier typing skills using Keyboard Adventure. They have also been working on math and reading skills using the websites www.abyca.com and www.pbskids.org.

Music

In kindergarten music class, we are working on identifying the steady beat of the music.  We will be doing a lot of singing and dancing to internalize this concept and creating our own steady beat movements to music.
