Cross Country & Track Coordinator- Anthony Tomas

The 2008 Track and Field Team had a successful season as a whole and for the individual athletes.  Our short season consisted of two meets and one championship meet.  Our Junior Varsity Girls brought home two 2nd place trophies for both of the meets.  The Junior Varsity Boys brought home a 3rd place trophy from our second meet.  The Junior Varsity Girls brought home a 3rd place trophy from the CSCC Conference Championship.

There are too many individual medals to mention but here are a few highlights of the season: one JV girl cleared 10ft. 8in at the long jump to place 2nd overall, one JV boy jumping 9ft 7in. at long jump placing 5th overall and the same JV boy throwing the TurboJav 62 feet placing 6th, a JV girls relay team running the 4X100 coming in at 3rd place with a finishing time of 107.5, a Varsity Girl threw an 8 pound ball of steel (a shotput) 18ft 2in, and one Varsity boy placing 6th in the 1600 meter run with a time of 6'06.52".  So, as you can see, the individual results are almost as exciting as watching the action LIVE!

Congratulations to our team and a BIG Thank You to Coach Tomas and Coach Plezia for another fun season.  Thank you to Notre Dame High School for allowing us to practice on their track.
