With outstanding academic credentials and extensive experience, she is eminently qualified to lead our school into the future.

Dr. Maloney is focused on enabling SJB students to reach their full potential. Her own background shows she is no stranger to working hard and reaching for the stars. Her doctorate is from Loyola University in Chicago in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. Her masters is in Curriculum and Instruction from DePaul University in Chicago, and her undergraduate degree is a B.A. in English in History from the University of Notre Dame.

Her work experience also evidences high achievement. She was a Peace Corps volunteer for two years in Cameroon, Africa, right out of college. She taught French-speaking African junior high and high school students in an English as a foreign language program -- and she still maintains fluency in French.

Dr. Maloney is no stranger to Catholic faith and education. Her uncle is a priest, her father was a deacon, and two of her aunts were nuns.

She has two sons: one is a college sophomore who plays multiple instruments including the Sousaphone and trumpet in the SIU marching band, and the other is a high school sophomore who is an excellent baseball and basketball player.

She loves music of all kinds, especially folk, blues, jazz, and she truly loves interacting with children.
