A Letter from Dr. Maloney

Dear SJB Families,

Lent is a season of reflection and preparation before the celebrations of Easter. By observing the 40 days of Lent, Christians replicate Jesus Christ's sacrifice and withdrawal into the desert for 40 days. All of our students began the season of Lent by receiving ashes on Wednesday. Some classes attended Mass with our rotating schedule, and the other students received ashes from our pastoral staff in the school. Fr. Meany, Fr. Przemek, Fr. Kurc, and Deacon Andy brought ashes to the classrooms and took the time to share the meaning of Lent with our students. The first graders were so interested in the ashes that Fr. Meany showed them what they look like!

Registration: The first class to have 100% of the students registered, or parents notify the office that they are not returning, will earn a special lunch!  Please visit our website at http://www.sjbschool.org and find the blue “button” on the right side that says “Register”. Under the button, it says “Registration is now open for the 2021-2022 school year!” Please register as soon as possible- our registration numbers determine our staffing levels for the next school year.

Morning Drop Off Reminders: Please make sure that you are here promptly, and that all children have their coats on and zipped, hats and gloves on, masks on, and backpacks ready before you leave home. If your children are not ready when you pull up for the wellness check, we will ask you to find a parking space and prepare your children there. Then you can walk them to the lane closest to the school for the wellness check.
